Christmas Music Madness

Christmas music starts playing earlier and earlier every year. Some people think that it may be playing too soon.

Christmas music is popular among hit radio stations this time of year. Christmas music has started playing earlier each year.

A few days before Thanksgiving, I casually turned on the radio and was shocked to find that Christmas music was already playing. At first, I was frustrated because it seems like Thanksgiving was being forgotten and everyone was jumping ahead to Christmas. But as I thought about it more, I realized that the Christmas season is already so short. We should enjoy anything Christmas for as long as we possibly can, because it will be over before we know it.

This isn’t an excuse to skip over Thanksgiving, of course. We all need a day to spend time with our family to appreciate what we have. Besides, who doesn’t appreciate a day full of fantastic food? Also, there is the potential that you might possibly get tired of the music. I highly doubt that this would happen, but it’s always a chance. It is so disappointing when Christmas finally arrives and you’re already sick of Christmas music because you’ve been listening to it for a month already.

With these factors aside, there really is nothing wrong with radio stations playing Christmas music a little bit early. If you think about it, there is only one month a year where radio stations go out of their way to play songs for a holiday. There’s no Halloween radio stations, in case you haven’t noticed! This is the time of year where family and friends get together and everyone just seems so full of joy. I notice that people seem different around the Christmas season. They tend to go out of their way to do kind things for other people, such as volunteering or donating money. When this season ends, everyone goes back to their mundane lives. It shouldn’t be this way, but it is.

We should try to enjoy this time for as long as we possibly can, because it ends before we even realize that it started. Maybe it means listening to Christmas music earlier or watching Christmas movies on Thanksgiving night. All I know is that Christmas only comes once a year, so we should try to hold onto it for as long as possible.
