Drive It Home, Eagles, with this Blood Drive

The Pre-Med Club will be sponsoring the United Blood Services drive, so to all the Eagles who are 16 or over and want to donate, May 17 is the day to do it.

Hospitals in the Phoenix area are in dire need of blood donations, so the Pre-Med Club wants to help out the community by hosting a blood drive at Horizon Honors. The club got involved with the United Blood Services through Science Teacher Amanda Bors, who held a drive at her old school. President of the Pre-Med Club, senior Brogan Taylor stated that, “All blood types are needed badly, especially O negative… and the blood that gets donated will go to hospitals all over Arizona and Puerto Rico.”

The blood drive will take place in the Multi-Purpose Room from 10 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 17. The blood drive needs at least 50 donors to show up, and there have been ten sign-ups in one week already. Remember, Eagles, this drive will help with the lack of blood in the hospitals in  the area. All the students who donate will have a chance to earn community service hours. The donor qualifications are listed at http://www.unitedbloodservices.org/pdf/BS300L-UBS.pdf.

The Pre-Med Club is looking forward to a great turnout, so if you’re looking into donating, don’t forget to sign up.
