With three choir concerts this week, one can only imagine how busy the teacher, Cori Jo VanderLey, would be. Dolce Voce, the all-girls’ beginning choir, and Magnum Chordum, the all-boys’ choir, performed together on Tuesday at 6:00. Following them was Bella Voce, the advanced girls’ choir, and Cantabile, the co-ed and most progressive chorus, at 7:30.
Thursday presented a concert for the fifth and sixth graders. The beginning choir Eagle Echoes launched the event, and the Horizon Harmonies closed. With VanderLey as teacher and conductor, the students are sure to excel.
VanderLey has been working with the students for the entire quarter to help them learn their songs and sharpen their finesse. When asked about her expectation of the concerts, she stated confidently that “I think that these will be wonderful performances. The students are prepared with songs and the excitement always helps add to the performance.”
No matter what grade they are in, the young singers will be very eager to complete the first quarter with a bang. Try to check out these exceptional performers and their sensational director for “With a Voice of Singing.”
