Valentine’s Day is known for love and sweet treats. These oreos provide both; celebrate people you love by sharing these delicious treats with them.
Ingredients:
Cookies
1 15.25 ounce package red velvet cake mix
2 eggs
¾ cup vegetable shortening
Filling
1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened to room temperature
½ cup butter, softened to room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 ½ cups powdered sugar
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix together cake mix, eggs and shortening until it is well combined. The dough should be pretty thick.
Roll dough into balls, then carefully smash down to flatten them, making sure they are all similar in size.
Place the dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until crispy.
Immediately transfer the cookies to a cooking rack or a spare plate.
Cream together cream cheese, butter, vanilla and powdered sugar until smooth.
Spread the filling onto the cooled cookies and sandwich them together.
Serve and enjoy!
