Goodwill Industries is a nonprofit organization founded in 1902 in Boston, Massachusetts. Used clothing, furniture, and electronics are donated in return for tax deductions, and are resold at very low prices. Goodwill donates 83 cents of every dollar to multiple charities, as well as specifically offering jobs to veterans and LGBTQ+ members.
Not only are the prices cheap, but there are also half-off days every other Saturday, and a “color tag of the day” for a fifty percent discount. You can buy an entire outfit for an average price of $20, excluding any discounts, which is the cost of one shirt at most popular dress and clothing stores. This allows you to save money, and you can create your own style using pieces that couldn’t be found anywhere else. Best of all, the money you spend gets put towards charities. You’ll be looking good and feeling good at the same time.
Below are some outfits I created from two locations. Looking through the racks feels like a treasure hunt to me, and I always dig enough to find those hidden gems. So go ahead, visit your local Goodwill – who knows, maybe you’ll find something incredible!
