Midnight Masquerade
As the fourth quarter begins, the upperclassmen at Horizon Honors are looking forward to prom! This year the theme is Midnight Masquerade, which encourages the students attending to add a mask to the usual dress or tux.
Last year the theme was 007, chosen by popular vote. The theme this year was chosen because many students wanted a masquerade-themed dance and the members of Student Council liked the aura of mystery that masks can provide. When asked about the process of choosing locations, Lauren Arenas, a grade 11 representative, explained, “We find some locations that could work and we vote on the best ones.” The location of the dance is 12 West Main in downtown historical Mesa. The open and beautiful space will enhance the experience.
Nikki Walsh, President of Student Council, is very excited for prom, declaring that it’s “going to be the party of the year!” Considering how much time Student Council has put into the dance, there’s no doubt that Midnight Masquerade will be the school event of the year. Tickets are available at lunch or in the office. The dance is on April 13th, 2013 from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am.
