Horizon Honors basketball is hosting their annual homecoming games on Friday, Jan. 18, starting at 4 p.m. in Horizon Honors gym. The theme for the game is a white out for our “Once Upon a Time” homecoming dance, which will take place at the Four Points hotel the following day. Try to go all out with school spirit to show your pride in being a Horizon Honors Eagle.

There is a tailgate beginning at 4 p.m., and includes delicious, cheesy food from Cheese, Love & Happiness. Udder Delights will also attend, and it’s one of the best places around to tend to those ice creamy cravings. Udder Delights will also have vegan and vegetarian options for those who want to enjoy the food, but may have restrictions to what they can eat.

Don’t forget to participate in the 50/50 raffle drawing that will take place during the game. Tickets will be on sell at the gate starting at 4:30 p.m., and the winner will be announced at the same time as when the royalty is. 50% of the proceeds go to the winner, and the other half will go to our student council to help fund prom. This is a great cause, win or lose, and will improve your experience at the dance.

The Horizon Honors Eagles will be playing the Paradise Honors Panthers all night long. Students with IDs get in to the game for FREE, but without it, there is a $3 fee. For adults and guests, there is a $5 fee. JV boys will start off strong at 4 p.m., with the varsity girls following up right behind them at 5:30. After these two games, all of the nominees you have voted to be a part of Homecoming court will take the floor. The voting ballot closes on Friday, Jan. 18, at 12 p.m. and at the game, you will find out who your royalty is for Homecoming 2019. The royalty will be announced at approximately 6:45 p.m., so make sure to have your cameras out and cheer for who you want to win. After the royalty have been announced, stick around to watch the varsity boys play at 7 p.m. and Horizon Honors Spiritline will perform on the sidelines to cheer on our basketball teams on while giving the audience a show to remember during the royalty announcement. This game is an amazing way to support fellow classmates, show school spirit, and eat delicious food, so make sure you participate in this amazing opportunity!
