Kalyn McLeod, Managing Editor
Kalyn McLeod is currently a junior at Horizon Honors. It is her fifth year in Journalism and third year as an editor. Other than writing, McLeod’s interests include painting, drawing, and swimming. McLeod has been swimming since she was young, and is currently on the Horizon Honors Swim and Dive team. McLeod loves to volunteer and help out in the community; her favorite place to volunteer is Lost Our Home Pet Rescue, where she helps with dog socialization by walking and playing with the dogs. Her love for dogs comes from Skye, a five-year-old Australian Labradoodle and her best friend. McLeod has a passion for anything outdoors-, animal-, or science-related. So much so that she is taking three science classes, and is President of the Wilderness Club and a leader of Pre-Med Club. McLeod is also a leader in the Student Council, Key Club, and the Elementary Service Club. McLeod likes to push herself academically and hopes to take on the career of a veterinarian or wildlife researcher. Outside of school and sports, McLeod spends much of her time watching anime and sitcoms.
