Kalyn McLeod, Editor-in-Chief

Kalyn McLeod is currently a senior at Horizon Honors. It is her sixth year in Journalism and fourth year as an editor. Other than writing, McLeod’s interests include painting, drawing, and swimming. McLeod has been swimming since she was young, and is currently on the Horizon Honors Swim and Dive team. McLeod loves to volunteer and help out in the community; her favorite place to volunteer is Lost Our Home Pet Rescue, where she helps with dog socialization by walking and playing with the dogs. Her love for dogs comes from Skye, a six-year-old Australian Labradoodle and McLeod’s best friend. McLeod has a passion for anything outdoors-, animal-, or science-related. So much so that she is planning on majoring in microbiology and is President of the Wilderness Club and Pre-Med Club. McLeod is also Key Club President, Student Council Executive Board Spirit Ambassador, Blood Drive Committee Chair, and Elementary Service Club mentor. McLeod likes to push herself academically and hopes to take on the career of a veterinarian or pathologist. Outside of school and sports, McLeod spends much of her time watching anime and sitcoms.
