Bacon Pancakes

Bacon+Pancakes

Do you grow tired of having to eat your bacon separate from your pancakes? I know I do, and that’s why I’m going to tell you how to make a hot stack of bacon pancakes, courtesy of the geniuses at Epic Meal Time.

Tools you’ll need for this culinary endeavor:

– Large frying pan
– Mixing bowl
– Small bowl
– Knife
– Spatula
– Whisk
– Cutting board

Ingredients:

Serving size: Makes 3 good sized pancakes or 5 smaller pancakes.

– About 9 strips of bacon (Two more or two less depending on your preference)
– 2 cups of flour
– 3 tsp butter
– 1 egg
– About 1 cup of milk
– 1 tsp salt
– 3 tsp sugar
– 2 Tbsp baking powder
– Maple syrup for the finished product

Cooking Directions:

Step 1: Start by cutting up all of your bacon into small bits and add them to your frying pan.

Step 2: Begin cooking bacon on high heat until it sizzles. Cook to a crisp or until desired doneness.

Step 3:  Place bacon bits into small bowl, and extract all grease from bacon as to not mix grease with your dry ingredients. (Save the grease in the pan; you will need it later.)

Step 4: In your large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, butter and egg. (Add about 1 cup of milk to get a nice consistency.)

Step 5: Whisk well until there are no lumps in your batter, because no one wants lumpy batter. Your batter should somewhat drip off of your whisk, if not add more milk. Add bacon bits and mix well one more time.

Step 6: Use the same pan to cook the pancakes that was used to cook the bacon, as this will help give your pancakes some additional flavor.

Step 7: Add in batter to desired size of pancake, and cook it completely. *Tip* Once the top of the pancake begins to bubble, the pancake is ready to be flipped.

Step 8: Drizzle that delicious hot stack in maple syrup and gloat to your friends about it.
