Wong’s Place Isn’t Quite The Place To Be
Wong’s Place, an interesting Chinese food restaurant, is a great place to see what your zodiac animal is, but isn’t exactly the ideal location to dine at.

Now, Wong’s Place (a small Chinese food restaurant on Baseline and McClintock) isn’t bad, but I don’t think I would call it “the hidden gem in dining around the valley.” It was fine but nothing special.
I was a bit intimidated by the place’s neighbors first of all, but when we walked into the building, I felt a little bit better. Although the restaurant was completely empty, it was decorated warmly on the inside. The staff wasn’t exactly welcoming, however, although our waiter later on was a bit more kindly.
We were seated at a table with an interesting and functional spinning top, and were equipped with tea and water while we picked over our menus.
I ordered the teriyaki chicken, and, comparatively, it didn’t take too long to arrive in front of me. What was the largest surprise was the quantity of food.
We were never informed that the portions of each dish were enough to feed two people, and as the price was expected for only one serving, we were shocked. If we had known that before, I believe we would have ordered less, but it does open up the possibility of Chinese leftovers for the rest of the week.
Anyway, the teriyaki chicken. It wasn’t anything special, and was sometimes a bit too soft in some spots for my taste. The flavor was fine, but I feel like I could’ve been better off at Pei Wei. Their sweet and sour chicken was fine, although bland if not entirely coated with the sauce, and their sweet and sour pork was unsatisfactory. It was flavorless, and the sauce just didn’t stay on long enough to chew.
Their best dish (that we tried anyway) was by far the huran chicken. It was not all that spicy for having been ordered as such, but the kick was suited to my palate. It was well cooked and coated in some serious goodness. But that was the only thing I liked quite a bit.
Despite it’s less-than-stellar service and food, Wong’s Place is a nice place to go if you’re looking for cheap date night with some seriously sizeable portions. Overall, I would give this restaurant a comfortable 3 stars.

This feels a little bit pointless. Where did this article come from? How did you get the line “hidden gem of the valley”? Are you referencing Yelp reviews or something? I mean, I get that you went to this restaurant, but if you had just an average experience there, why write an article about it? It wasn’t AMAZING, or AMAZINGLY BAD, just average…
This feels less like something someone would care about and more like the author grabbing at an option for an article, or responding to reviews on some other website. If that’s the case, write your review there.
