Soft Butter Cookies
The holiday season is over, but cookies are a great year-round treat. This recipe, originally from St. Louis, is absolutely delicious. These cookies are not something you will want to share.

Ingredients:
- ½ cup softened butter
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 egg
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 box of yellow cake mix
- 1 cup (or less) of powdered sugar
Directions:
- Add the cream cheese, butter, egg, and vanilla extract to a mixing bowl.
- Use a mixer to whip the ingredients until light and fluffy.
- Stir in the cake mix until a thick and smooth dough forms.
- Refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°.
- Pour powdered sugar into a separate bowl.
- Once finished refrigerating, roll the dough into little balls, cover them in powdered sugar.
- Bake the cookies for 12 minutes. Time may vary depending upon how thoroughly baked you would like them.
- Let cool, then enjoy!
