“Monster-fully” Crafted Brigadeiros

A brigadeiro is a delicious Brazillian fudge dessert that can be decorated to match almost anything, making it perfect for this spooky season.

Halloween is coming quickly, and along with it comes Halloween parties. From decorations to costumes, Halloween parties put you in a seriously spooky mood. However, the food is always the key factor of a good party. There are many things you can make to ensure your party is the best it can be, but one of my personal favorites is to make a plate of brigadeiros (Brazilian fudge balls) decorated as monsters.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can Sweet Condensed Milk
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Any color sugar sprinkles
  • Small candy eyes

Directions:

  1. Combine the milk, cocoa, and butter in a medium saucepan.
  2. Stir over medium heat until the mixture thickens (about 10 minutes). Make sure to continuously stir, so the bottom will not burn.
  3. Then, take the mixture off the heat. Let it cool for about 30 minutes. Once cooled, roll into small balls. You can use a cookie scoop for evenly-sized monsters, but using your hands works fine, too.
  4. Then, roll the balls in sugar sprinkles and place a candy eye on top.
  5. Now you can enjoy your monstrously good brigadeiro!

Remember, a brigadeiro can be decorated to match any occasion, but are especially fun to make for Halloween. As the holiday season begins, using red and yellow sprinkles would be great for a Thanksgiving feast, or try red and green sprinkles to replicate Christmas ornaments alongside your tree. A fudge dessert is always a hit for a group, but nobody will judge if you make a batch just for yourself.
