A Sweet Treat with Sweet Potatoes

A Thanksgiving classic, sweet potatoes with marshmallows is always going to be a hit.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and that means delicious food is on its way. Take a break from your traditional recipes and try this new, delectable recipe that you will become a part of your Thanksgiving tradition.

Ingredients: 

  • 4 sweet potatoes
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • Marshmallows (enough to cover your tray)

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 400° Fahrenheit, conventional bake.
  2. Peel and chop sweet potatoes, placing in a large pot with enough water to cover the potatoes.
  3. Boil them until they are soft, about 30 minutes
  4. Drain water and mash the potatoes.
  5. Mix in the butter.
  6. Add the brown sugar. If 1 tsp isn’t enough for your taste, add more as necessary.
  7. Put into a baking dish and scatter a layer of marshmallows on top.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake until marshmallows become golden brown, approximately 20 minutes.
