Rindala Hantas is a sophomore at Horizon Honors. This is her second year attending the school and her first year as a journalist for The Horizon Sun. She was born and raised in Arizona, and her birthday is on June 26, 2006. She comes from a multicultural family, her mother being Mexican-American and her father Lebanese. She is very proud of her background and has gotten to learn many things about  Middle Eastern and Mexican culture. Some of her favorite school subjects are English, biology, and history. Outside of school, she loves to go indoor rock climbing, write, exercise, skate, and watch Netflix. She is an only child and has one lovely pet cat named Blanco. Her hopes for the future are to travel, have her own business, and go to college. Her aspirations for this year are to become a better writer, join some clubs, and enjoy sophomore year.

The history of our mascot has been shrouded in mystery.

The History Behind Blaze

The popularity of Mascots dates back to the 19th century. Mascots are a key part of school culture. They invoke emotion and get people excited. Blaze, our eagle, isn't solely a mascot but also a symbol of our school.
