Allister McLeod
Allister McLeod is a columnist for the Horizon Sun, who enjoys covering technology, entertainment, and anything outdoors. As a member of Horizon’s Key Club and the Vice President of the Sophomore Student Council, he likes to spend time planning service projects and school events. Additionally, as a member of Horizon’s swim and dive team, he is a part of two relays, and swims the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke individually. In school, his favorite subjects include history, English, and anything involving reading or writing.  In history, his favorite region to study is the Mediterranean. For his electives, he takes creative writing and, of course, journalism. Outside of school, McLeod swims year round, even if he doesn’t enjoy the cold water in the winter. In scouts, he serves as a Troop Guide, and is currently working towards his Eagle Scout. Outside of scouts, he likes to go camping and hiking, with his favorite spots including Weaver’s Needle and the Mogollon Rim. When it comes to his free time, he spends hours over-analyzing books, shows, and movies, especially when he can rant about his thoughts to his friends. Currently, his favorite book is Tom Clancy’s “The Sum of All Fears”, and his all-time favorite video games are Destiny and Destiny 2.
