Lofty Goals of Lofthouse Cookies
May 28, 2017
My favorite cookies are the ridiculously sweet, melt-in-your-mouth Lofthouse Cookies. I have always wanted to recreate these cookies, so much that it has been a lifelong goal of mine, so I decided to live life to the fullest and find out how.
Ingredients:
Dough
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup butter (softened to room temperature)
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup sour cream
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
Frosting
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp milk
- ½ cup butter (softened to room temperature)
- Sprinkles
Directions:
Cookies
- Preheat oven to 350 ℉.
- Mix sugar and butter in mixer until smooth.
- Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Slowly combine wet and dry ingredients
- Create balls using 3 tablespoons of dough and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Put in oven for 11-12 minutes. The cookies will not appear to be done, but that is fine.
- Place cookies on cooling rack and decorate with frosting and sprinkles after the cookies have cooled.
Frosting
- Beat butter in mixer for 30 seconds.
- Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time.
- Mix in vanilla extract and the milk in batches (as all of it might not be necessary) until fluffy.
