The first day of school is both exciting and stressful for students as they reunite with friends after summer vacation and enter a new grade level with unfamiliar classes and teachers.

Although getting familiar with new teachers and taking higher level classes can be intimidating, teachers at Horizon Honors are very welcoming. Senior Zoe Lockwood said, “All my new teachers were very inviting and I felt comfortable in all my classes.” It hasn’t quite hit Lockwood, who has been attending the school since first grade, that this is her last first day of school at Horizon Honors. “I know it will be a big deal later,” she said.

For many students, the best part of the day was seeing friends. “Getting to see all my friends after a long break is super exciting,” Sophomore Danielle Moran shared.

The start of a new school year brings lots of excitement as students look forward to all that is to come. “I’m looking forward to all the dances,” says Sophomore Destiny Lovely.
