Tumblr is a social networking site open to everyone which allows people to express themselves. There are countless types of blogs, but there are four main categories of Tumblr blogs.

The first type of Tumblr blog is a fandom blog. A fandom is a group of people who support the same celebrity, TV show, or movie. This makes up a large portion of content on Tumblr. About half of the site is a part of a fandom, or multiple fandoms.

The next largest section is theme blogs. Theme blogs are blogs with a definite theme to match them. Popular themes include hipster, quality, grunge, pale, tropical, and so on. Theme blogs usually don’t post anything original and tend to only reblog.

Another part of Tumblr are the funny text posts. These blogs are the ones that don’t really use Tumblr for pictures, but just to get a laugh through posts with only text.

The final use is the one that Tumblr was really made for: photography. Most photography is taken professionally, and usually used by theme blogs.

No matter the type of blog, Tumblr is a place full of surprises and unique personalities.
