Organic and fresh produce reaches a new level at Joe’s Farm Grill, where you can literally see the fields where the vegetables grow as you sit at a picnic bench eating your lunch or dinner.

Joe’s was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, and since then, has become a local sensation. Reviews on Urbanspoon show an 87% positive rating.

Located in Gilbert, the restaurant is surrounded by farmland, and the building has some unique architectural features.

I ordered the Farm Burger and fries. The lunch was very tasty, but it wasn’t as good as I had expected. Although it was one of the better burgers I’ve had in Phoenix, I didn’t think it was anything especially superb.

The Ahi Tuna Sandwich was featured on the show, and my brother, who considers ahi one of his favorite foods, tried it out. For Arizona standards, he thought it was a good find, but it still couldn’t compare to the fresh and never frozen catch you can find in California and Hawaii.

I also tried the Garlic Fries, which were featured on the show. I love french fries as well as garlic, so I thought it would be a delicious combination. However, the garlic was extremely overpowering and I found the fries to be too oily for my taste.

I would like to go back and try the BBQ Chicken Pizza, which was also featured on the show.

The lines can be really long, but the time from when you order to when you receive your food is very fast. The menu offers a wide selection of choices from burgers, sandwiches, salads, pizzas and shakes. The food is a little overpriced in my opinion, but it is not outrageously expensive.

What I really liked about Joe’s was the environment. Families gathered around the picnic tables under the shady trees, kids celebrated their birthdays, and senior citizens met up with old friends. It is a very multi-generational dining spot.

Joe’s Farm House was one of the less impressive food finds I’ve visited from Food Network. However, it was still an enjoyable dining experience with a family atmosphere.
