A lot of people have bobby pins just lying around the house somewhere. Turn boring bobby pins into something creative; with a few simple steps, you can create your own hair decoration!

What you’ll need:

  • Bobby pins (style and such aren’t important)
  • Glue (preferably a type that doesn’t get everywhere)
  • Plywood (as thin as possible)
  • Paint and markers (optional, these are just for decoration)
  • Scissors

Step 1: First, measure out several (two or three for each bobby pin) small shapes on the plywood. I chose triangles and free-handed when cutting them. You can use a ruler and whatever shape you want. Make sure to cut with scissors. Cut out an even amount.

Step 2: Then take some of your shapes and decorate them. You can put dots, squares, write a word, basically anything you desire.

Step 3: Put a small amount of glue on your decorated shapes and layer them on top of a blank one. Make sure to show a little bit of each shape and get rid of any excess glue.

Step 4: After that dries, take a small amount of glue and place the plywood shapes on the end of the bobby pin, on the closed side. Once again, be sure to remove any extra glue.

Once it has dried, you’re done! You now have a simple, elegant looking hair accessory! That is sure to dress up the simplest of outfits. They also work as great gifts for family or friends and are a fun idea for school dances. Since these are so simple to make, and still have lots of leftovers, the possibilities are endless.
