Stuffed Tummy Stuffing

Ingredients:
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lb. hot italian sausage (or breakfast sausage)
- 1 large onion, chopped finely
- 2 large carrots, diced
- 2-3 stalks celery, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-2 cups chicken broth
- 1 package seasoned stuffing
- 1 package cornbread stuffing
- 4 red apples, peeled, cored, and cubed
- 1 cup walnuts (optional)
- 1 pack of Hawaiian sweet rolls, ripped into small pieces
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Steps:
- In a large saute pan, cook garlic, onion, celery, and carrots until tender (about 10 minutes).
- Add sausage and cook until done, breaking up the larger chunks. Take off heat and let cool.
- In a large bowl, mix seasoned stuffing, cornbread stuffing, walnuts, and apples. Add the sausage and sauteed vegetables.
- Add salt and pepper and slowly mix in the chicken broth until the mixture is moist but not soggy.
- Dress turkey and place remainder of the stuffing in a casserole dish.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30 minutes.
Whether you use the stuffing to dress the turkey or to make a yummy casserole, it puts a smile from ear to ear on everybody’s face.
