With prom just around the corner, ideas for hair, makeup, and outfit changes are going through everyone’s mind. Here are a few simple hair styles that can be done with medium/long hair for prom day.
Half Up, Half Down Braid:
Step 1: Brush out the hair and even out a middle part. Grab three small strands of hair near the top the head, leaving some hair down in the front.
Step 2: Begin braiding the pieces back while grabbing a piece of hair from under the braid with each twist. Continue this down to the back of the head and put it in a hair tie.
Step 3: Continue with the other side, trying to make it as even as possible. Join the two together in the back with 1 hair tie.
Step 4: Loosen the braids if necessary. Style the remaining hair into curls or keep straight.
Simple Low Ponytail:
Step 1: Create a smooth, low ponytail. Brush out any bumps before putting in the hair tie and place tightly to avoid any hair falling out.
Step 2: Grab a piece of hair within the ponytail from the underside/outside and wrap it around the hair tie. Put in bobby pins to secure the loose hairs.
Step 3: Make sure the ponytail is tight and brush the hair. Style the remaining hair with curls or keep it straight.
Half Up, Half Down Ponytail:
Step 1: Separate the bottom and top half of the hair with a brush. Make sure the lines are even and brush the bumps and creases out to make the top half as smooth as possible. Secure it with a small ponytail.
Step 2: Take a piece of hair from the under/outside of the pony and wrap it around the hair tie. Make sure the hair tie is completely covered. Use bobby pins to secure the hair and tuck in any loose hairs.
Step 3: Style the remaining hair with a curling iron or leave it natural.
You can take these hairstyles and personalize it with accessories or change them up to fit your style. You can throw in flowers, additional braids, or even go with just your natural hair. Have fun at prom, ladies!
