Anyone who likes a good chicken alfredo will be glad to know that Friday, October 25, is World Pasta Day. There’s no better way to celebrate than by making spaghetti!

Ingredients:

  • 1 12-ounce box spaghetti
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 pound ground beef or ground sirloin
  • 1 24-ounce jar tomato and basil sauce or your favorite pasta sauce
  • Finely chopped fresh basil for garnishing (optional)
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese for garnishing (optional)

Directions:

  1. Add pasta to a large pot and cover it completely with cold water. If desired, add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, and strain when the pasta is cooked.
  2. In a large skillet, add the ground beef and cook over medium-high heat. Break up the meat while it is cooking.
  3. Once the beef has cooked, add pasta sauce. Stir to combine and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. After the pasta has cooked, add the sauce over the pasta and toss to combine in the skillet.
  5. Optionally, you can garnish it with basil or Parmesan cheese. Enjoy!
