The opening show begins at 7 p.m. on April 25, and the show closes May 3, also at 7 p.m. To see exact showtimes and buy tickets head on over to Go Fan! Ticket Prices are $12 for children, students, and staff and $15 for adults.
“The Addams Family” is the last chance to see the astonishing senior cast perform before their graduation. The Horizon Sun had the fantastic opportunity to talk to one of the seniors, Connor Johnson, about the show. Johnson loves theater and has been participating in theater since seventh grade!
Editor’s Note: Responses have been edited for clarity.
The Horizon Sun: How do you feel about this being your last show?
Connor Johnson: Definitely sad about it, but looking back at all the shows I’ve been in and how all the old seniors mentored me in the shows, it feels like a full circle moment and it’s bittersweet. I’m really proud of all the new people who came in; there are some amazing freshmans who are super talented.
The Sun: What role do you play?
CJ: I play the role of Mal Beineke. The plot of the Addams family is a meet-the-parents situation when Wednesday Addams meets Lucas Beineke, and I am the father of Lucas.
What has been the most enjoyable part of creating the show for you?
CJ: There is a scene that Gomez shows [my character] a torture chair, and we actually built the torture chair, so they had to measure me for it. Colson [Bush, who plays Gomez] pulls a lever and a spike comes up; it is really fun and I enjoy that.
The Sun: Do you have any advice for new theater kids?
CJ: I would say find out what you like about theater and pursue it. In theater I enjoy the roles where I often play angry, but comedic, characters. Basically, find your strength and focus on that. You may be an actor but you can also be a great costume designer. so pursue what you feel comfortable with.
Don’t miss your chance to see Johnson and many other fabulous performers in “The Addams Family.”
