Addyson Gauer, Editor of Campus Life and Sports
Addyson Gauer is a junior at Horizon Honors and the Editor of Campus Life and Sports for The Horizon Sun. This is her first year as both an editor and a member of Journalism, but involvement in school activities is nothing new to her. She is the Junior Class President, Co-President of Girls Who Code, and Co-Captain of the Varsity Girls Volleyball team, as well as a member of Key Club, Wilderness Club, and National Honor Society. Outside of school, Gauer is an avid reader and a huge fan of fictional series like “Percy Jackson” and “Harry Potter.” She also enjoys listening to music, taking relaxing car rides, and learning about chemistry. While Gauer does not have a deep attachment to a single genre, she does maintain affiliations with certain artists. Her current favorites are Taylor Swift, Hozier, and Arctic Monkeys. She is close with her sister, Allyssa Gauer, and regularly visits her at Arizona State University. Gauer plans to pursue her passion for chemistry as a chemical engineering major once she graduates, though she has not committed to a college yet. Overall, Gauer enthusiastically looks forward to her first year in Journalism, and hopes to create memories that will last a lifetime.
