St. Patrick’s Day Crafts

With St. Patrick’s Day, this month is the time to prepare for the arrival of the angry little men. What better way to stay in the celebrating mood than with some green-themed crafts!

Shamrock Corner Bookmark

  1. Get out your supplies. You will need a square piece of paper (I recommend using green paper), scissors, and a pencil or pen.
  2. Fold your paper into a triangle.
  3. Fold one side point of the triangle up toward the middle. Repeat for both sides.
  4. Unfold the two points from the middle.
  5. Fold one side of the paper from the middle point down.
  6. Refold the two points as seen in step three. Repeat for both sides.
  7. Tuck in the top of the point into the center fold. Repeat for both sides.
  8. Sketch out your shamrock on the back. Cut out.
  9. Flip over shamrock and decorate how you like.

Shamrock Embroidery

  1. Gather your materials. You will need an embroidery hoop, thread, a needle, and a towel or anything else you would like to make more festive.
  2. Start by attaching your hoop to your towel. Trace out a shamrock.
  3. Thread your needle and make a knot at the end.
  4. Pull your thread through the bottom of your towel and go back under once you reach the top of your sketch.
  5. Continue until you have created a shamrock.

Shamrock Vase

  1. Gather your supplies. You will need green paint, a vase, paper, scissors, a pencil and a gold sharpie or gold paint.
  2. Get out a piece of paper and sketch out your shamrock. Cut out and place on your vase.
  3. Paint your vase green. Let dry and then peel off shamrock. Scratch off mistakes if necessary.
  4. Using your gold sharpie or paint, make dots around the shape of your shamrock and have them scatter farther from each other the farther from the shamrock. Let dry.

The mason jars make cute vases for flowers or holders for other sweet treats.

St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Wreath

  1. Get out your materials. You will need a wreath structure, St. Patrick’s Day ribbon or scarves, a mini pot or bucket, paper, watercolor or colored pencils, gold coins and a hot glue gun.
  2. Wrap your ribbon or scarves around the wreath frame. Glue in place.
  3. Prepare your gold pot. Stuff your pot or bucket. I just used foam, paper and a couple extra coins. Now glue your coins at the top in a position you like.
  4. Glue your pot of gold on to the wreath.
  5. Get out a piece of paper and paint your rainbow. I recommend doing a diagonal shape.
  6. Cut out and glue your rainbow to the back of your pot and the back of the wreath.

These easy crafts are a fun way to put you in the festive mood. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
