The Biewer Terrier
March 22, 2021
The American Kennel Club recently announced a new edition to the Terrier family. The Biewer Terrier is a happy and cuddly dog that weighs anywhere from about four to eight pounds with a life span of 12-15 years. According to the American Kennel Club, this is AKC’s 197th recognized breed.
About The Dog
The Biewer Terrier has a long, fluffy tail that curls over its back. Their tails make it easy to distinguish the breed from other terriers. It also is a tri-colored dog that is born white, black, and tan, and has a long soft and silky coat of hair that is very nice to cuddle. If you choose to keep the Biewer Terrier in its long coated hair then it will need grooming once or twice a day to make sure no knots or ticks can get in the hair. The Biewer Terrier is very adaptable, meaning you can put it with any family and it will fit right in. The dog can learn tricks and commands, as well as be loyal and friendly to those around. The dog also loves the snow, hiking, and going to the beach. To make sure that the terrier lives a happy healthy life, you want to give it exercise daily, and want to make sure that the dog maintains a proper diet. Dr. Pruett states that the dog has “a sensitive gastrointestinal system,” which she says can be controlled with a good diet.
Price of the Dog
The Biewer Terrier can be found pretty much everywhere with a price ranging from about $3,500 to $4,000, which is not the cheapest pup. The American Kennel Club suggests using their website to find a reputable breeder near you.
The Biewer Terrier is a very fun, loyal, and furry dog, which does well with any family. It’s an extremely presentable and lovable dog, and looks especially great with a bow on top of its head (If you’re thinking of getting a dog, make sure the breed works for you).
