Amelia McCrory, Columnist
Amelia McCrory is in eighth grade this year, attending Horizon Honors Secondary School. She is beginning her first year in Journalism as a columnist for The Horizon Sun. McCrory is thrilled to have the opportunity to write articles for The Horizon Sun, due to writing being one of her passions. McCrory has gone to Horizon Honors since first grade, making it her eighth year. Her favorite subjects in school are English, Citizenship/Civic Engagement, and Guitar. McCrory enjoys English and Citizen/Civic Engagement, because she loves expressing herself through writing. She has begun learning guitar this school year for the first time in Guitar 1-2, offered as an elective at Horizon Honors. Outside of school, McCrory loves playing basketball and participating in Horizon Honor’s Theatre arts program. McCrory plays basketball for AZ Fire Basketball Club with other girls her age. At home, McCrory loves spending time with her parents, two younger brothers, and two goldendoodles. In her free time, she loves to braid and style hair on relatives and friends for her hair-themed Instagram account. She also has hopes of attending Medical School to someday become an anesthesiologist. McCrory is delighted to have the chance to write as a columnist for The Horizon Sun.
