“Doors” is a popular multiplayer game on the well-known platform Roblox. As of 2025, the horror game has had over six billion visits. In its success, many new features were added to the game, along with new items. As of now, there are two levels, known as floors. The main objective of the first floor is to go through doors one through 100 and escape the hotel.. The second floor starts off where the first floor left off, with the elevator the player(s) use to escape crashing into the second map, titled “The Mines.” Players then have to go from door 100 to 200, so that they can escape. The two floors are able to be accessed within the same lobby of the same game. All of the floors have entities that attempt to kill the player, if the player manages to leave without getting killed, they win. This game can be a bit challenging to play individually, so it is recommended to play with a friend to make it easier, plus it is more fun that way.
On the first floor of the main game “Doors,” there are 15 monsters. The first one, Rush, takes on the appearance of two round, blank eyes and a wide grin. He will spawn when the lights flicker and can be avoided if the player hides in the wardrobe in time.
Taking on the appearance of a screaming face, Ambush will also spawn when the lights flicker, like Rush, except the player will have to go inside and out of the wardrobe several times in order to avoid being dealt damage by Hide.
Hide spawns only in places where the player hides, given its name is Hide. If the player stays in the hiding area for too long, he will forcefully kick them out and take a portion of their health.
Dupe is another monster who gets his name from what he does. Dupe will duplicate the number on a door. If the player is not paying attention to the number on the door they went through beforehand and ends up going through the incorrectly numbered door, he will deal a lot of damage to the player.
A gooey little character with a wide grin, Screech, spawns in dark rooms and makes a “psst” sound when he is warning the player for an attack. If the player manages to look at him in time, he will scream and deal no damage. However, if the player does not manage to look in time, he will bite and take a portion of the player’s health.
Sally looks like a little girl and has a chance of spawning in rooms with windows. The lights will flicker to warn the player of her arrival. The player has to give her an item from their inventory if they are to survive her attack. If they fail, she will forcefully grab an item from the player and damage them.
Dread will only spawn if the player takes too long on a certain floor, as in one hour. However, in floor two, Dread will spawn if the player takes more than five minutes in the room and will only decrease the amount of time that the player has to leave the room they are currently in as the player advances in the game.
Shadow is a very rare occurrence, having an only 1/2000 chance of spawning, but if he does spawn, he is simply a shadow who disappears a moment after. He is just there for show.
Seek is a boss since, unlike the other monsters, he only spawns a couple times in running parts of the game on certain doors. Seek tends to spawn in large hallways, but there will be signs to know when he does beforehand. One of the signs of Seek’s presence is seeing eyes on the walls, along with the room’s lights flickering. After the player comes across the hallway with no eyes in it, the Seek chase starts. A black, gooey figure with one eye rises out of the ground and then screams. The player must then run until they get to safety, avoiding objects that get thrown in their path and choose the door with a blue shine on it. This chase continues for seven doors, then the player must avoid Seek’s large hands that break through the window and avoid touching the fire. The door will then shut and the player will hear three large knocks on the door from the angry Seek himself.
Figure spawns on door 49, which takes place in a library. Figure is also considered a boss since he is the main antagonist of “Floor One” also later on making an appearance on door 100. Since Figure is blind, he has enhanced hearing capabilities, so the player should remain crouching the entire time, otherwise he will find the player and kill them. The player will be able to escape “The Library” when the player successfully manages to obtain eight books and get the sheet that helps them break the code on the door they need to leave out of. If the player gets too close to him during this level, he will be able to hear their heartbeat and kill the player.
“Floor Two,” which takes place in “The Mines,” has the majority of the same entities, including: Ambush, Eyes, Halt, Rush, Seek, Screech, Figure, Timothy, Glitch, Dupe, and additional new entities that were added to the game including Giggle, Grumble, and the Gloombats.
Looking like Screech, this entity has a wide grin, similar tentacles, and is obnoxiously loud. That’s right, if people already hated Screech, they’ll hate his little nightmare of a cousin named Giggle. The player can know when Giggle is in a room if they hear the sound of snickering or giggling. This entity has the capability of spawning in any room except for the first and last door. This monster likes to hang on the ceilings like a bat, and if the player does not look up and accidentally walks under where he is hanging from, he will fall right on their face and start laughing until he deals a certain amount of damage to them.
Grumble, who is another new monster, spawns after the player is chased by Seek on door 150, called “The Nest.” He will chase after the player, relying on both sound and sight. The player has to get all four of the number codes entered in order to leave.
Lastly, the Gloombats are giant moths that will attack the player if they have any active light source in their hands. They make screaming sounds along with loud buzzing and will destroy any source of light in their path.
Moving on to what are known as subfloors, obtain their name for not being essential to the gameplay, rather being its own thing within the same lobby or game. The one that is accessible through the lobby is called “The Backrooms.” The player starts from door 50 until door zero and only three monsters are found inside of this subfloor: Haste, Blitz, and Lookman.
The subfloor that is inaccessible through the lobby is Called “The Rooms.” This subfloor can only be accessed after the player reaches door 60 in the main floor. Once they enter, the player can decide to either exit after door 200, or door 600, or if the player is willing to beat the entire subfloor to 1000 doors. In “The Rooms,” there are four entities, Glitch, A-60, A-90, and A-120. A-60 believe it or not, spawns on door 60, but can sometimes spawn beforehand or after that door. The same concept applies for both A-90 and A-120.
As of news for “Floor Three,” it will take place in a level called “The Castle” and is said to be coming to the game this year, according to LightningSplash (LSPLASH), the Roblox “Doors” game developer. As stated by Magician Rblx, LSPASH had hosted a Q&A session on X, answering many questions that people had. They are planning on adding new features to the admin panel, including being able to use the panel on subfloors. They are also considering adding the unused courtyard soundtrack into the garden subfloor. One person also asked if they would add the ambience sounds back into the greenhouse map since it basically got ditched.
When Screech spawns on other players, the main player would not be able to see him. However, in the new update, Screech will now be able to be seen in 3D. A new update in the future will involve players being able to see how many times they have beaten a certain floor. Some people were also asking if LSPASH would add any new Rush variants to the game in the future, to which they said that they would be willing to do, but they are not sure if other people would want this. Someone had also asked if LSPLASH will collaborate with “Pressure,” a fangame for “Doors.” He responded by saying he would have liked to do so, but he does not really think that there would be much that they could add to the game. Rush is the Anger or Jeff is Sebastian, but in the end, each monster is just a different variant of each other. This is because Anglers behave like Rush, having the same attacking mechanism, and Jeff is a character that gives the players items at a midway point of the game, just like what Sebastian does in the middle of the game.
Some people also theorize that Grumble might be Seekified (the process of Seek using his goop to manipulate and control another monster), since people assume that Screech is the Seekified version of Giggle. Some people also assume that “Floor Three” may also release specifically in August, since that was when the release of both “Floor One” and “Floor Two” occurred.
A new subfloor is also going to be added into the game; a teaser was released by LSPLASH of a picture of two large wooden doors taking place in the Greenhouse in “Floor One” that leads to what is known as the Garden subfloor. People have theories that there may be a new Architect, (the spirits that power up certain monsters or appear to players when they go to certain floors: Guiding light, an angel, Mischievous light; a devil, and Curious Light; a god) called Viridis Light. After looking through the game files, players also assume that a character named Wade might also appear in the Garden subfloor. The new update is going to bring many new features into the game that are to die for!
