Sixteen-year-old Beatrice Prior has to make the choice of her lifetime. She must choose her job, lifestyle, and everything else that comes with it. The intense pressure of the future is resting on her shoulders and, unlike everyone else in her society, she has no clue what she is going to choose.  Divergent is a gripping dystopian that will capture your heart and make you love reading all over again.

In futuristic Chicago, the society is divided into five distinct factions – Dauntless, Abnegation, Erudite,  Amity, and Candor. The Dauntless are the brutal and rebellious protectors of the city who are often outcasted by the other factions. Abnegation, the leaders of the society, are the selfless to a fault and retain a strict society. The Erudite are the incredibly intelligent elitists of society. The final two are the kind and carefree Amity and the harshly honest Candor. All sixteen-year-olds must choose their faction – their future, their job, the very nature of their lives.

Beatrice Prior is one of many teenagers in Chicago, who must make the choice to stick with their family and familiar life or start a new, possibly better life. Beatrice is confused about who she is – not quite good enough for her faction the Abnegation or something else entirely. The one deciding factor, a simulated test that uses her choices to determine her faction, gives her a dangerous secret. Beatrice discovers her perfect society isn’t the utopian it appears to be, and she is launched into a world she could never imagine.
