Book Fair Evolves with the eWallet

Noah Stults, Columnist

It’s that time of year again: the book fair is here. At the fair, there will be a wonderful selection of items for kids and adults of all ages. Whether you’re on the hunt for comic books, chapter books, or picture books, it’s all here at the book fair!

This event takes place on Monday, March 11 through Thursday, March 14 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. If you can not make it to the fair, there will also be an online book fair that takes place on March 6 through March 26. For the older kids, you have the opportunity to volunteer at the fair for community service hours. Volunteers do various jobs like decorating the media center, finding appropriate books for children, and helping kids with money.

This year there will also be a new element in the book fair, a service called eWALLET. The eWallet is an efficient way to transfer money to a child. All you have to do is create an account and set a spending limit for your child. This will make the amount you have determined readily available for your child when they come to the book fair with their class or after school. You can set up your account from Feb. 22 onward. The book fair is a fun way to start reading, so stop down at the media center and support our school by buying a book, poster, or fun trinket.
