The popular mobile game company Supercell just announced a new game currently in development called “Squad Busters.” According to Supercell, “Squad Busters” is a player vs. player and player vs. environment game that hosts a variety of characters from other Supercell games like “Brawl Stars,” “Clash of Clans,” “Clash Royale,” “Boom Beach,” and even “Hay Day.”
At the start of each match, players are given an option to choose from one of three characters. The main objective in the match is to be the player with the most gems. Throughout the match, players can collect coins to open chests around the map where the player again is given an option to choose one of three characters to choose from. In some spots of the map there’s trees and plants that players can harvest for extra coins, though the player has to have a certain type of character to harvest them. In some matches there’s battle mods that change the course of the match by either adding bosses, more chests, or even adding speed boosts to everyone. Around a minute before the match ends, a gem mine in the center of the map opens and gives a massive amount of gems to whoever can collect them. Additionally, there is no respawning for eliminated players.
The way players gain the playable characters is by opening chests that come in common, rare, and epic varieties; in those chests the player can get one of four different types of characters: baby, classic, super, and elite. In order to upgrade the characters to the higher tiers the player needs to collect 10 of a certain stage of a character to upgrade it. Along with the four types there’s also another type called mega. Currently there’s only two megas in the game. An alternative way to unlock or upgrade characters is to buy them from the shop with coins.
Supercell gave out rewards in their other games to get more support towards “Squad Busters.” Supercell did milestones in their games that give rewards to players for pre-registering for “Squad Busters.” Those milestones were one million, five million, 20 million, and 30 million. When each milestone was hit, Supercell gave out a free item in all their games whether it be skins, emotes, or decorations. After the latest milestone was reached, Supercell put out another milestone of 40 million pre-registers. The reward for reaching this milestone will be a decoration for the “hub world” in the menu of “Squad Busters.”
The hype around “Squad Busters” is continuing to grow and when it releases globally it’s sure to be one of the more enjoyable Supercell games.
