The fields of Valley Christian High School saw another game of soccer, this time with the boys of Horizon Honors as the opponents. The game was on Monday, Jan. 20, at 6 p.m. This made for a crowd of freezing fans, but the cold did not seem to stop the boys from bringing their game.

Although it was a while before the first goal was scored, the players still had exciting plays throughout the halves. Goalie and sophomore Spencer Brown had various good saves that easily could have won Valley Christian a point had he missed them. The first point was scored by junior Josh Drapkin which of course was followed by a victory lap and a group hug. Shortly afterwards, another goal was scored by senior Nick Valdez, ending the first half with a score of 2-0.

No goals were scored by either team until the middle of the second half, and senior Kyle Hickie broke the curve. As no other goals were made throughout the remaining time, the game ended in Horizon Honors’ favor with a score of 3-0. Overall, the boys were doing a nice job keeping the ball away from Valley and had good shooting. Thus far, the boys have had a very successful season, and here’s another win to add to the books!
