Mac-n-Cheesy Goodness

This delicious mac and cheese is great any time of the year, but is especially good as a side for Thanksgiving. It’s yummy and simple, and is sure to become a new classic for you family.

Ingredients:

  • Pasta:
    • 24 oz. elbow macaroni
    • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Topping:
    • 1 ⅓ cup bread crumbs
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Sauce:
    • 8 tablespoons butter
    • ⅔ cup flour
    • 6 cups warm milk
    • 4 cups cheese (cheddar, parmesan, gruyere)
    • 1 ½ teaspoon salt
  • Seasoning:
    • 2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large shallow saucepan, add butter and flour. Mix well.
  3. Add the milk, one cup at a time, and stir.
  4. Once all of that is mixed together, mix in all the cheese, one cup at a time, and salt.
  5. Mix seasoning together and add to sauce.
  6. In a large pot, boil water and add three cups of elbow macaroni. Cook until slightly al dente. Take off heat and drain.
  7. Add your macaroni and sauce together and mix well.
  8. Mix topping together and top the macaroni.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until top is golden brown.
