Cookie dough can be toxic and non-edible when some ingredients are not correctly baked, stirred, mixed, or heated up. This article will teach you how to create delicious non-toxic, edible cookie dough (Related: bake the classic chocolate chip cookies in six steps).

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • ½  cup brown sugar
  • ¼  teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¼  teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½  cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons sugar

Instructions:

  1. Pour flour into a microwave-safe bowl and “heat treat” it by microwaving for about 50-60 seconds. The flour should reach an internal temperature of 166°F.
  2. Mix flour, brown sugar, salt, butter, vanilla, and sugar until crumbly.
  3. Add milk and chocolate chips; mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Chill for an hour.
