Ironwood Library in Phoenix, Arizona, is now offering community service opportunities to teenagers 13 to 17 years of age. Phoenix Public Library states that the library is in need of spirited teens to volunteer with the annual summer reading program. Students and teens will work with young children to improve the local skills of local kids and the volunteers themselves.

In order to join the program, teenagers have to turn in a signed parental consent form, attend an online orientation session, and be able to commit to the volunteer service for four weeks from June 1 to July 19, 2023. Volunteer Phoenix has details for the process of joining the summer reading program, but spots fill quickly so register as soon as possible.

The summer reading program is a great opportunity to learn valuable customer service and communication skills, get volunteer hours, and earn an extra boost on future resumes. If you’re interested, be sure and sign up!
