On March 19, 2026, the first episode of the highly anticipated anime, “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 7: Steel Ball Run”, aired its first episode on Netflix. “Steel Ball Run” (SBR) is said to be one of the best manga series ever, and it’s loved by a wide variety of people, so naturally when the anime adaptation was announced people were ecstatic. When the series first aired, its special episode covering the first stage of the Steel Ball Run Race, the episode was met with extreme praise, it even reached the top spot on MyAnimeList instantaneously. The episode left viewers eager for the next one to come out, fans expected it the week after but it never came.
Usually most new anime release on a weekly schedule; “Jujutsu Kaisen” Season three did this and it worked wonders. Another way to release anime episodes is in batches–part six of “JoJo’s: Stone Ocean”, did this too and was met with extreme hate by the JoJo community. Fans theorize that Netflix, (who have the rights to release JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) are going to, again, release the season in batches which is making everyone mad, once more. Furthermore, Netflix has gone almost radio silent about the series since the release of the first episode. On March 28, 2026, Netflix broke the silence by releasing a trailer for stage two. Fans were ecstatic that Netflix finally released some details about the next episode, but were met with disappointment as at the end of the trailer it states that stage two comes out some time in 2026 with no specific date.
Old time fans and new viewers of the series are very angry about the release schedule . Fans are getting to the point where under every video Netflix releases across all of their social media platforms, fans are cursing the name of Netflix and its chief executive officer. The JoJo’s community started spreading to almost every new video across social media (especially TikTok), even ones with nothing to do with JoJo’s.
To sum it all up, SBR has been a very long awaited series, and fans are happy that it’s at least getting an adaptation. With the hype comes all the hate too, fans still want answers on when their show will be releasing and just want clarity.
