“Peter and the Starcatcher” is the newest performance by the Horizon Honors drama students. Performances will be held on Dec. 6 at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. showing on Dec. 7. The play is based on the 2004 novel “Peter and the Starcatcher,” written by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, and adapted to the stage by Rick Elice. It is the prequel to the more commonly known story of Peter Pan.You can purchase your tickets for $5 here.

The story begins with a plan to steal what Molly (Kate Cochrane, junior) calls “Starstuff,” a strange substance associated with the stars. Adding to the magic of the story, there are only a few actors who will play many characters. The theme of leadership is explored throughout the story, especially through one of the main characters, simply named “the boy” (Grady Newsum, freshman). So, set sail and get ready to man the decks, because this is one play you will not want to miss.
