In 2023, a Youtuber named Danno Cal Drawings, whose real name is Daniel Callihan, announced he would be creating a series called “Toon Turf”. The series was originally projected to release in January of 2024, but got delayed to a further date due to complications.

“Toon Turf” is an animated YouTube series released on November 27, 2025 exploring the past of Danno’s original character, Riggy The Rabbit Monkey, and his origin story of how he became the person he is today. The show is said to be recommended for ages 10 and up, according to IMDB.

The plot of the show will be set in September of 2019, and will show the life of Riggy when he was 18 years old. The show will see Riggy moving to a new town, Toonville, hoping for a happier life, but unfortunately everything falls into disaster as most of the citizens dislike him due to his tail and his dislike of  Lucky, one of the show’s antagonists. Along his journey of exploring his new home Toonville, he meets a new acquaintance, Billy the Beaver, who is seemingly the only citizen that accepts him. Unfortunately, due to Riggy’s recklessness and carefree attitude, Billy ends up meeting his demise in an accidental explosion caused by Riggy. 

The show ends in a cliffhanger of two suspicious figures watching over Riggy, and a credit scene with Lucky talking to his associate, Paul, wondering what they’re going to do with Riggy. Lucky states they’ll keep watching him, slightly hinting at him as an antagonist of future episodes.

Toon Turf includes a wide variety of cast members including many friends and fellow YouTubers of Danno like cdotkom, Jonny Razer, Bundun, and even his brother, Joe Callihan to help support the project. Many viewers who have seen the episode put many positive reviews on its performance and emotion put into it.

The pilot episode was an amazing production and definitely worth the two year wait. The animation style is a unique and fun different kind of animation, which is good because it tricks the audience into thinking it’s a normal show until they discover more. Danno used his time well to bring the show and characters to life bringing an excellent episode.

The show has some shocking plot twists and amazing performances by its cast. The voices of the characters make it feel like real human emotions and will make you feel drawn into the show and attached to the characters.

Overall, the pilot was extremely well done and could be recommended to anyone who is looking for a mysterious but simple story that is free to watch.
