Middle School Volleyball A Team Wins

Horizon Honors’ Middle School A Team won against Rancho Solano on Sept. 25 at home.

On Sept. 25, Horizon Honors’ Middle School Volleyball A Team played against Rancho Solano at 5:00 p.m. at home. Fans filled the gym and rooted for their team. Support for Horizon Honors’ team came from the audience and each other on the court. The game only lasted two sets, the winner being Horizon Honors.

The first set started off with number five serving and Horizon Honors scoring the first point. Number 10 played an effective role in this set, blocking Rancho Solano from scoring three times. Number one was one of the set’s MVPs because of her consistent digs and first bumps in the longest rally of the set and game.

The second set was nail-bitingly close. The final score was 25 to 18, Horizon Honors. The set started with Rancho Solano serving and Horizon Honors scoring the first point. There was a replay called and Horizon Honors scored, making the score even at 9 to 9. Number 13 served a powerful ace.

The game went by quickly and was one to remember due to its memorable plays by the whole team. The players on the sidelines cheered on their fellow teammates using various chants. Middle School’s A Team’s next game will be on Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. at Phoenix Country Day School.
