The “Despicable Me” franchise has become very popular since the first movie was released in 2010. The movies follow Gru, a wannabe villain, and his minions until he suddenly adopts three little girls. In the second movie, Gru finds himself a wife, and in the third, he meets his twin brother. All of these movies have caused a lot of popular trends across the internet, like going to the movie theater dressed up in fancy suits.

Recently, Illumination, the producer of the “Despicable Me” and “Minions” movies, announced a fourth “Despicable Me” movie. According to Collider, the movie comes out on July 3, 2024. There was a trailer released on Jan. 28 that has gained a lot of attention.

The trailer depicts Gru, his three adopted daughters, his wife, and the newest addition to the family, his biological son. Then his manager comes in to inform Gru that one of his arch nemeses escaped jail and Gru must catch him. Gru’s whole family sneaks into Gru’s arch nemesis’s base and faces many challenges.

Many viewers have pointed out that Gru’s adopted daughters haven’t aged at all despite his son being most likely over the age of one. Others wonder if another movie is necessary.

Nevertheless, the movie will likely start a trend of its own and become75 very popular, seeing as the franchise has done so in the past.
