On Feb. 15, 2026, the fifth episode of “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” titled “In the Name of Mother” released and took reviewers by storm. The episode received immense praise on IMDb, gaining traction from all kinds of fans, including review bombers. Review bombing is a practice in certain media where fans will intentionally rate something low just to bring its rating down.
Fans of the popular TV series “Breaking Bad” started to notice the attention that the “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” episode was getting, and began to repeatedly rate the episode with one star reviews. The (previously) top rated episode of “Breaking Bad,” titled “Ozymandias,” held its 10/10 rating for over 10 years on the website. The onslaught of one-star reviews on “In The Name of Mother” was in an effort to bring this newer show’s rating down and return “Breaking Bad” to its throne. In retaliation, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” fans decided to review “Breaking Bad”’s episodes in turn, lowering the review scores of “Breaking Bad” as well.
Due to the review bombing by “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” fans, “Ozymandias” has been receiving, day by day, lower and lower scores. As of Feb. 24, 2026, the episode sits at 9.5/10, 0.5 points off of its previous ranking. Other episodes of the series have been dropping as well; many great episodes across the series are now rated in the low eights. Two episodes have dropped below an 8/10, which is huge for the show as that has never happened before. Although the reviews don’t affect the show in any way, fans are still outraged as the show has held its profoundly positive reviews for many years.
Overall, these acts of review bombing against these two amazing shows paints a bad picture on both of the fanbases, no matter the fan. People shouldn’t be degrading another show simply because it’s getting too popular, and they want to keep their top rating.
