Smart glasses have been becoming a new popular topic in the technology world. Over the past few years companies have been creating advanced smart glasses for people to use in their day to day life. Some popular companies like Ray-Ban, Oakley Vanguard, Oakley HSTN, Ray-Ban Display are all partnered with Meta to create fashionable but technological smart glasses and now Apple has joined the trend.

According to MacRumors, smart glasses come with features like fitness tracking, navigation, hand free communication, a camera, and more. Smart glasses even help deaf people by showing the words that people speak to them through the glasses, allowing them to understand and communicate with people that don’t know sign language. These features have been making smart glasses more popular over the past year with sales going up incredibly fast. With sales increasing, Apple is going to create their own smart glasses hopping on the trend. Apple is due to release their smart glasses in 2026 but they have not come out with an exact date. Apple is practicing with four new designs that could all come out this year. They claim that the designs would be for fashion but will also be a helpful carry on, with any features that a regular smart glasses. 

Smart glasses are popular due to many key factors. One factor is technological  advancements. According to Forge, as artificial intelligence and hardware have advanced it has made smart glasses more powerful and functional. Another factor is because of its fashion. Smart glasses are designed to be fashionable and practical, appealing to be a blend of technology and style. They also offer real world applications. According to IDC, smart glasses offer practical applications like real time translation and health monitoring, which enhances their technology side more than their fashionable side. 

As for the new trend of smart glasses, many technology companies have been making new versions of their own smart glasses. Apple, for example, a huge international technology company that has designed some of their own smart glasses that are coming out later this year hoping to increase their sales since smart glasses have been a huge topic.
