Mac and cheese is a recipe that can be enjoyed in many ways and different flavors. This recipe will show a new style of making mac and cheese and will explore a new taste with these simple instructions.
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- 8 tbsp butter
- 1 cup mild cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup Velveeta cheese
- 2 cups half-and-half
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- Half tsp salt
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter a 2 quart casserole dish
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the oil, then the macaroni. Cook until tender, about 7 minutes. Do not overcook. Drain the macaroni in a colander and return to the cooking pot.
- In a small saucepan, melt 8 tablespoons of butter over low heat. Stir the butter into the macaroni.
- In a large bowl, mix the mild and sharp cheeses. To the macaroni, add the half- and-half, all of the cheeses and the eggs. Season with salt to your taste.
- Pour this mixture into the buttered dish. Sprinkle a small amount of shredded cheese over the top. Bake until it’s bubbling around the edges, about 35-40 minutes.
